THE ONE WHO IS REALLY REAL!

"How are you sure your mother is really your mother?"

"What if they lied to you?"

"What if the DNA test was a scam?"

"Just because you grew up and saw yourself in their midst doesn't mean they're truly your parents".

These were the statements from our lecturer on the first day of class in that course. He bombarded us with these words to raise critical and analytical thinking in us. I had just been admitted into the Philosophy department of the school as an undergraduate. He wanted us to begin to doubt everything and start thinking afresh to determine what the truth is; like of Ancient Philosopher, Rene Descartes. Anyway, we're not talking about about philosophy today. 😄

Most of us never questioned the identity of those we call our parents today. We never even wondered if they are truly our biological parents. This is not to undermine being adopted as a child or having foster parents; and both are really good. But apart from these instances, many of us grew up with the people we call our parents, and we never bothered or even never had the audacity to ask them if they were truly our parents.

The question now is this: how come people question the identity of the One who was closer to us than our mothers in the womb? How come we don't believe in the authority, superiority, sovereignty, and Father-ship of the One who formed us? Don't get me wrong. Man is a rational animal. It is good to ask questions, and it is even better to believe the truth when it comes to us.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

A possible consequent of the antecedent is that we look or behave like them (our parents), or so we were told. (A lot of people tell me that I look like my mum, some still say I look exactly like my dad😲). Another possible consequent is that most of us saw them with our two eyes, or still see them. So it is easier to believe what we see. Some people have discarded God, with the opinion that He is some entity that should be regarded as inconsequential or illogical. Maybe if they "see" Him the way they see the President of a State or Nation, they would believe better.

But God has manifested Himself in countless ways for us to see Him. We see Him in nature, the trees, plants, water falls, river, sun, moon, snow, rain, stars, men, women, everywhere and everything. The peak of His manifestations is where He became flesh just like man. Who does that? God alone! I know some people will still argue that they didn't see Jesus in the flesh, so they didn't see God as well. Which is why we walk by faith not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7). The moment we accept (or have faith) in what the Grace of God has done for us in the person of Jesus, we begin to see God with His own eyes. The works of His hands are the evidence of His existence and reality. But He wants us to see Him beyond that. It sounds simple and foolish right?

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 1 Corinthians 3:19

We have a Father who is waiting and longing to fellowship with man. I can say so many things about God for you to know Him. A lot of people have written and spoken about Him. But it takes a personal revelation of God to have a thorough conviction. You only need a minute out of your 24 hours in a day to ask Him to reveal Himself to you. He sure will. he is more real than any real thing you can think of. He will call you and draw you; and when He does, harden not your heart.
