THE GLORY: MY DEFENSE

Ever watched a comic film with superheroes, where the actors have to fight certain enemies. They use several weapons, from spears to swords, bombs, claws, and so many others. But there's something worthy of note in some of the action movies. A shield. Many a time, it is not just the handheld tool, it is the type that covers the entire land or a spaceship, or the actors. This prevents invasion from outsiders, and receives bullets or bombs fired against the characters. It takes a lot to break this covering, and in most cases, it cannot be broken.

Alright, back to the real world. 😊 We live in a world full of vices and attacks. While we know the some of the origins of these attacks, there are many we do not know. But we know we have one enemy - Satan - who manifests himself in different shades. These attacks come in various forms, (sicknesses, pains, deaths, losses, etc) and they are both spiritual and physical. Some we see them, some we don't. The word of God in 1 Peter 5:8 says this 

Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour. AMP

As children of the Most High, we have been equipped with weapons to fight the darts and vibes of the devil. They are not carnal, but are mighty to the pulling down of the strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). But there is something that also keeps us protected and guarded. THE GLORY..Hallelujah..!!!

The Glory is that covering provided by God Himself over His own. There are many implications and manifestations of God's Glory. But here, we're focusing on how it is our defense.

Then the Lord will create over the entire site of Mount Zion and over her assemblies, a cloud by day, and the brightness of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory and brilliance will be a canopy [a defense, a covering of His divine love and protection](Isaiah 4:5 AMP).

Say this aloud "The Glory in me is stronger than the attacks of the devil". And this is the truth. This what the devil does not want people to know. The Glory of God

It suppresses and even flattens the attacks. It is the defense of a child of God. This because the Glory is The Divine Presence of God. The Hebrews refer it as the Shekhinah Glory. It's a dwelling. Just the way the LORD appeared to the people of Israel and protected them with the pillar of cloud and pillar of fire, the Lord still does that to those who trust in Him and run to Him. Psalm 91:1 says this about God's shelter.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. AMP

     

You know the way the mountains surround Jerusalem (Psalm 125:2), so is the heaviness of the Glory over a man. In Exodus 24:17, the children of Israel saw that Glory of the Lord was like a raging fire. This is what surrounds every man who has identified himself with Jehovah, and constantly maintains relationship with Him. The Glory operates both within and around a man. It is very important to ensure that we have the Glory within us, not just around us. It is that Glory that keeps us secure and preserved even in the midst of trials, battles, persecutions. It shines from inside out. This Glory is accessed from residing in the Presence of God; in the place of prayer, worship, word study. It is also accessed by having a heart totally humble and sold out to God. Here's a word from David in Psalm 27:4

The one thing I want from God, the thing I seek most of all, is the privilege of meditating in his Temple, living in his presence every day of my life, delighting in his incomparable perfections and glory. TLB.

We should seek this everyday of our lives. Only then can we be fully defended to be defeated, and too surrounded to surrender.
